I put the dip tinfoil
on my head half-facetiously
New Years eve

infinite paths

lost already
map of the stars
resolutions dissolve
 
hire alien sherpas

uprooted prayer plant
can I propagate you
and sprout new roots?

Elderberry Wine

elderberry wine 
hard swallow

whines of youth
overflow into my ears

years speed up
respect slows down

the flower wreath in my hair
is for the Grateful Dead 

I keep on truckin’
not always happy about this strange trip 

inconvenience stores
line the highway 

my poems aren’t filled with
magnolias or grandchildren 

maybe next lifetime 

rainbow - bees - clouds
mermaids and more

my page’s companions 
for they are her messengers

her ashes     worn around my neck

left ventricle 
the place where we meet for a cuppa tea

or to be filled with an ocean of tears
to swim with my girl any dam well time I please

forget-me-nots 
remembrances cut short, not my flower of choice 

paint my room black

rage against the machine
make the record go backwards

I keep on truckin’
take another sip of whine
