John Adlam is a group psychotherapist and independent psychosocial researcher. He lives in Brixton and works in NHS mental health services in South London. He is a member of the Survivor Poets collective. His poems have appeared/are appearing in Asylum, Snow Lit Rev, Atrium, South, Eunoia, Poetry Express Newsletter and The Broken Spine.

My favourite constellation was always Orion, partly because it is usually clearly visible but also because readily recognisable with his belt and sword in particular presenting themselves vividly to my boyhood's imagination. I was in fact very passionate to the point of deep nerdiness about astronomy in latency and so was always quick to explain that Orion had two supergiant stars, the mighty Rigel and Betelgeuse. On a good day I could even pronounce the latter correctly...
